# Add a seed inbox

> kind=imap adds a standalone seed (IMAP login is verified before saving; use an app password for Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook personal accounts). kind=mailbox makes a connected mailbox a seed (Gmail API, or its IMAP for SMTP mailboxes). provider is a free label; guessed from the domain when omitted.

**Minimum role:** `edit` (`x-min-role`). **Destructive:** `false` (`x-destructive`).
